EXCURSIONS
Once you register to attend the conference, you will receive your confirmation email, with the link to pick your excursions.
Option 1: Peggy’s Cove
Board a bus at 1 pm and drive 45 minutes to Peggy’s Cove. You will have about two hours to walk around, take pictures, and visit the gift shop and restaurant. We will arrive back at the hotel by 5 pm at the latest, so there should still be time to find supper at a nearby restaurant if you wish. (Click here for more info.)
Option 2: Lunenburg
Board a bus at 1 pm and drive 75 minutes to historical Lunenburg. This will be a relaxed time to walk around and visit this little fishing town. There are many shops to explore and restaurant options for your supper. The Bluenose will be docked and viewable from the shore (but no tours, unfortunately). We will stay for about three hours, giving you enough time to explore and find supper. We will arrive back at our hotel by 6:30pm. (Click here for more info.)
Option 3: Hang around Halifax
Options include the Harbour Hopper (tour by land and sea), museum visits, and of course, free time to explore on your own. Take part in one activity, or as many as you can fit in! Museums close at 5 pm, so you will have plenty of time to find a restaurant for supper.
Option 4: Explore on your own
Prefer to explore on your own? You are welcome to do that, too! The “Best Things to Do in Halifax” video has some great ideas. Remember: you need to be back in time for our evening plenary session!
