\n\tDear Friend,<\/p>\n\n\tAs Bev and I write this letter, we find ourselves, like all Canadians, still deeply moved by the Saskatchewan highway tragedy involving the Humboldt Broncos and the shocking loss of life in Toronto\u2014three blocks from where our family spent two summers with relatives. Events like this shake us to the core, reminding us what is most important.\n\nTypically, each spring we write to present the opportunities and challenges for a summer of sharing the Gospel with Canadian children, youth, and their families. But this year we are up against an entirely different challenge: the financial impact caused by the federal government rejecting dozens of One Hope Canada camp ministry applications. Why? Because we refused to give an unqualified \u201cyes\u201d to one line on the application form that says One Hope Canada supports the government\u2019s non-scriptural position on reproduction and sexuality. We estimate an additional $250,000 is needed to support our summer missionaries, in addition to legal and media relations costs.  \n\nBut is a government policy on a summer jobs grant program the most important thing to focus on? No.\n\nAs Christians, it may be easier to stand against something (like government policy) than to unite for something\u2014until tragedy reminds us we are united at the deepest level because our lives are but a vapor compared to eternity.\n

\n\tThis summer, over 18,000 children and youth will spend at least a week at one of our 40 camp ministries. They will hear the Gospel presented clearly and will experience the eternal difference this good news can make.<\/p>\n\n\tOver half our campers\n

    \n\t\t\twill learn for the first time what Jesus Christ did for them on the cross<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\nWe desperately want to share the love of Jesus with as many children and young people as possible and we need your help to do it.\n\nWe can\u2019t think of a more worthy and important cause\u2014children, teenagers, and their families being changed for eternity because they will hear, see, and believe what Jesus did for them.\n\n\n\nWill you join us to make this summer of ministry possible?\n\n \n
