No more big Christmas parties or sporting events. Family \u201cbubbles\u201d limit contact. Stay six feet apart, no contact, only a few people can enter a business, restaurant or medical office at a time. Even church is limited in size and scope (if it\u2019s open for in-person meetings at all).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s enough to make you cry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s a natural reaction. But perhaps there is another way to look at it, too.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the time of Ezra and Nehemiah, the Israelites had gone through years of destruction, slavery and hardship. And then, when they were finally allowed to return home, some weren\u2019t so keen on the new normal&#8230;it just wasn\u2019t the same.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although the temple was rebuilt, it wasn\u2019t the wonder constructed by Solomon. There was weeping amidst the celebration. Some wished they could go back to how it was before.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But then the prophet Zechariah heard this from the angel of the Lord: <strong>\u201cDo not despise the day of small things, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin\u2026\u201d (Zechariah 4:10).<\/strong><\/span><\/p><h4><span style=\"color: #22b577;\">Finding hope in the small things<\/span><\/h4><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">God is at work in the small things. He is at work in your family, in your church, and in your community. It is normal to lament, but God reminds us not to be so inward-focused that we forget He is in the here and now.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The God of heaven is still sovereign, He is still in control and He is still very much at work.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You never know what might happen. Remember that ragtag group of Israelites who lamented the loss of what was? Prophecy after messianic prophecy showed that the Messiah would come from their number. And He did.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was a small start for what will one day be a great finish.<\/span><\/p><p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the midst of this time of \u201csmall,\u201d what does God want you to do? How is He inviting you to be part of His plan?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-eb715ec elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"eb715ec\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column
