First Nations Ministries
One Hope Canada missionaries serving in the Rainy River District are involved in ministry to First Nations children, youth and adults. Volunteers and church teams enhance the ministries of our missionaries by helping with VBS, Day Clubs and other ministries near or on local reserves during the summer. These valuable summer contacts with children and families open the doors for ongoing relationships with our resident missionaries throughout the year.

HOPEyouth has been reaching out to the youth of the Wikwemikong Reserve on Manitoulin Island for the last seven years. Over this past year One Hope Canada worked with HOPEyouth to transition from being primarily a youth ministry into a church plant. We are thrilled that this process, which began almost one year ago, has become a reality. On January 1, 2018, One Hope Canada released HOPEyouth to C2C, a church planting training ministry under the direction of CCMBC (Canadian Conference of Mennonite Churches), confident that the ministry will continue to grow and succeed under their capable care and leadership. The “new” HOPEyouth and the REALhope church plant will continue its vital roles of reaching and ministering to the people of the Wikwemikong Reserve.
