Faith Gospel Fellowship
Location: Ft Vermilion, Alberta
Pastor: Brad and Bethany Collins
Description: With a population of about 800, Fort Vermilion is located 400 kilometres north of the town of Peace River. It is Alberta’s most northerly farming area and supports a logging industry. Established in 1788 as a Hudson's Bay trading post, Fort Vermilion today serves as a communication, transportation, and emergency services hub for a number of surrounding communities, including nearby native reserves.
One Hope Canada (formerly Canadian Sunday School Mission) began a church plant here in 1982 and now it has grown to about 80 people who are excited about reaching men and women, teens and children with the Gospel of Christ. They seek to minister to the community in various ways using special programs for children, youth and adults as well as visitation in homes, hospital, and lodges. Some First Nations ministries have been done on the surrounding reserves. Anyone with a need for instruction or fellowship is met with warmth and friendship.
On April 3, 2016 Faith Gospel Fellowship joined the Associated Gospel Churches, a ministry partner of One Hope Canada, and joined more than 150 other Associated Gospel Churches in Canada.
