Sharing the Gospel; spreading the joy
“What excitement on their faces, knowing they had made an eternal difference in a life!”
Good news! Great joy!
Children often have the upper hand when it comes to joy, exuberantly sharing their good news with whomever will listen. What an encouragement when that excitement centers on how much they loved their time at camp! This summer, we heard:
One day at camp is better than a week of video games!
Even food tastes better now that I know Jesus!
God’s love is intergalactic!
These quotes make us smile, but the greatest joy is when a camper trusts Jesus for the first time or renews a relationship with Him.
This year, more than 1,661 children and youth attending One Hope Canada camps or outreaches made first-time professions of faith in Christ!
“During craft time, a girl told our summer missionary she had accepted Christ the night before,” says a leader from Stoney Lake Bible Camp near Melfort, Saskatchewan. “Another girl asked what that meant, so our missionary took the opportunity to explain salvation. She accepted Christ and spent the afternoon excitedly sharing her good news!”
Another leader shares: “This summer the team at David Thompson Bible Camp kept its eyes on the goal of sharing the good news of Jesus. Many campers heard about Him for the first time. Each of the girls serving as junior cabin leaders had the blessing of leading a camper to Christ! What excitement on their faces, knowing they had made an eternal difference in a life by giving up their summer for the sake of the Gospel!”
Your generous gift this Christmas
will change lives for eternity.
Last year, 3,896 One Hope Canada missionaries and volunteers from coast to coast shared the good news of Jesus with 28,783 children and youth. Of those, more than 11,000 have no ongoing exposure to the Gospel beyond camp.
Your generosity makes it possible to:
- develop follow-up programs and other ministry opportunities.
- provide quality training for our missionaries as they share Christ’s love with children and youth across the country, sometimes in challenging circumstances.
- keep costs low, so more children can have a camp experience.
Thank you for giving. Thank you for praying. We could not do this without you.
